    Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Options

    • Suboxone: At AppleGate Recovery Bossier City, we use Suboxone as a key treatment for managing opioid addiction. Suboxone combines buprenorphine, which reduces withdrawal symptoms, with naloxone to deter misuse, helping to stabilize brain chemistry and reduce cravings. Our outpatient Suboxone program enables Bossier City patients to receive effective treatment while continuing their daily routines at home and work, supporting a balanced recovery journey.
    • Buprenorphine: We also offer buprenorphine, a partial opioid agonist that effectively reduces cravings and alleviates withdrawal symptoms. This treatment option supports patients in stabilizing their recovery and provides flexibility within our outpatient program.
    • Sublocade: For long-lasting relief, we provide Sublocade, a monthly injectable form of buprenorphine that eliminates the need for daily dosing. Administered by our skilled Bossier City medical team, Sublocade supports consistent recovery progress with the convenience of once-a-month treatment.

I've been going to Applegate recovery for 4 1/2 years & I love the whole team there. From my devoted and caring doctor Dr. Fredrick Heard who is one of the top Psychiatrist at Oshners LSU and who truly believes in what he is doing and there's no doubt that the medications and counseling are saving lives like mine. But also, the counselors are always there for you if life hits you with something hard because as an addict, we would normally deal with hardships by numbing them with drugs so they will not hesitate to call you in for one on one counseling to help you through it. Aare responsible for a lot but are always willing and ready to do my PA or call my meds into another pharmacy because the pharmacy your prescription originally went to is out of your medication. Dr. Heard was very understanding of my allergic reaction to the Suboxone and put my on the Subutex instead with no issues and he's always straight forward with me about everything including the fact that the FDA is trying to get rid of Subutex all together and that you have the right as a patient to ask the pharmacy for any particular brand of the medication that you want bc they're providing you with a service that you or your insurance is paying for and I love that about him. Yes Applegate can be expensive but it is worth it bc they will do anything and everything to help make sure you are able to get your medications and your Prior Authorizations for your insurance. I ❤ this clinic

Been here 7 months had 2 counselors both I would give about 4.8 of 5 stars which is about A- still very good and nice. The front desk is very friendly and helpful. Nursing and Doctor also speedy efficient but detalied and knowledgeable. Front desk staff gets 4.8 of 5 or A- Doctor and nursing needs to take 10 extra minutes so they miss nothing! They get 4.4 of 5 stars or B+.....still way above avg for the Bay area and ten times better than Turk St or Ward 93 at General Hosp.

Applegate is the BEST place to go if you are wanting to quit, but are nervous or scared about judgement! I've been going since 2017, and was SO nervous, ashamed, embarrassed, and scared about my 1st appt, but AS SOON as I walked in, I was greeted, they were very confidential, didn't pass judgement or talk down to me like they were above me, they listened, were VERY genuine, and VERY GOOD people! Aijha, the counselor, is also AWESOME! Dr. Y has been VERY GOOD to me, and they treat me as if I were one of their friends, instead of a patient with an addiction!! I was SO scared to go here because of my past, but now, IM PROUD that I go there, because applegate got me the help I needed! I would refer them to ANYONE!

Medication Assisted Treatment with UA testing and counseling gave me the relief, breathing space and knowledge I so desperately needed to begin my recovery. Your help at BAART helped me break bad habits and replace them with the spiritual development i thought was gone. Even when i relapsed you went above and beyond the call of duty to literally save my life and lovingly bring me back to my senses; by getting my attention and giving me simple instructions to follow up out of my downward spiral. I continue to be committed to my recovery because i can face and participate in my own life as well as others. I am now able to help myself and others, where in the past i hurt myself and others. Although some of my greatest challenges have come during recovery, i can now clear away wreckage and rebuild my life. Thank you for your continuing help and support.
