Suboxone Clinic Services for Residents in State College, PA

At our Suboxone clinic in State College, we’re proud to provide proven medication-assisted treatment options. These evidence-based programs are designed to help you overcome your cravings so you can focus on your healing. Our options include:

  • Buprenorphine treatment: Buprenorphine is an FDA-approved partial opioid agonist. This prescription prevents withdrawal symptoms and manages cravings by attaching to your brain’s opioid receptors and activating them, but to a lesser extent than full agonist opioids. Buprenorphine’s effects have a ceiling and will not reach excessively pleasurable levels when taken as directed. This reduces your cravings for stronger opioids, which allows you to focus on other aspects of your treatment.
  • Brixadi treatment: We offer an extended-release injectable form of buprenorphine, Brixadi. It is used to treat opioid use disorder and is similar to Sublocade with some differences. The injection can be given once per week or once a month and is a smaller injection that can be injected through different sites on a person’s body. The injection can only be administered by a healthcare professional.
  • Sublocade treatment: Sublocade is an extended-release injectable form of buprenorphine that is used to combat opioid use disorder after receiving treatment for seven days with a buprenorphine-based medication. The injection is given once a month by a certified healthcare provider. The medication in the injection is slowly released into the system over the course of the month which blocks the rewarding effects of opioids.
  • Suboxone treatment: Another prescription option we may utilize is Suboxone, which combines buprenorphine with naloxone. Naloxone is an opiate antagonist, attaching itself to your brain’s opioid receptors while not activating them. Patients experience instant withdrawal symptoms if misused, making it a great deterrent to relapse or misuse by injection.
  • Vivitrol treatment: Vivitrol is a special medication injection approved by the FDA that helps people who are struggling with opioid or alcohol addiction. It works by sticking to parts of the brain called opioid receptors, and it gets rid of any drugs that are there and stops and reduces future cravings.
  • Chronic Pain Management with Buprenorphine: We want you to feel comfortable during your recovery. In our efforts to do so, we also admit chronic pain patients who wish to stop taking prescription painkillers such as OxyContin, Dilaudid or Opana.
