AppleGate Recovery patients are protected against discrimination based on addiction treatment. Many people with OUD are hesitant to seek treatment because of the concern that MAT medications will appear on drug tests required by employers and other authorities. However, most four or five-panel drug screenings do not test for buprenorphine, but some more advanced tests do. Patients can consult with staff members regarding lab testing, and under federal law, employers cannot terminate or deny employment to people enrolled in MAT treatment.
